Home Meet Tomorrow! Sign-up by 9pm Tonight!

Hi Team-

I hope you had a great weekend filled with fun in the sun (!) and swimming! I meant to get this email out to you last night but I was literally falling asleep into my computer. But I had a factory reset and now I am ready to go!

First I would like to say thank you to all those swimmers and families who did our double away meet kick off to the season. Thank you parents for all your support filling those meet positions and driving your families all over the southern portion of our league. A special thanks to Leigh Jaschke for single handedly running the bullpen at the Vergennes meet, you are my meet hero. Also a special thanks and shout out to Giana Borsellino who filled in last minute in a vacant 11-12 girls relay spot. She is newly competing in the 11-12 age group and doing 50s instead of 25s. She stepped in even though she did not know how to do the back stroke turn yet, thanks Giana for being another meet hero. Also I want to thank others for their kindness and support of their teammates. Micah Berg (Leigh’s son) got a huge shout out from the coaches for his positivity and support of his teammates especially those new to meets and swimming. With your efforts we managed to edge out Vergennes in a 291 to 207 victory, every point counts. Thank you for your efforts! Please see attached results and/or your swimtopia app for up to date results.

Now onto this week- Only 1 meet and the 4th of July Holiday!

Tuesday (tomorrow) home meet vs. St. Albans. Please sign up by 9pm to be included in this party! Also please sign up for jobs! We are short on second shift bullpen workers and timers and likely other positions, I only gave it a cursory glance.

Snack Bar Sign-Up for Jobs and Donations, please help out if you can. This helps raise funds for awards and special events for our team. Sign up here.

No practice Friday July 3rd. In honor of the 4th of July holiday.

On the Horizon beyond this week-

State Meet planning: With every meet, swimmers are getting new qualifying times for States. Here are the order of events for the weekend in White River Junction on August 1st and 2nd. Swimmers must make the times and swim at least 2 meets with the team to participate. Swimmers can swim up to 5 individual events (with qualifying times and bonus qualifying times) plus 2 relays for the weekend. If your swimmer qualifies please make it a priority to come to this meet. It is super fun and a great culmination of a season of work. 10&Unders are in the morning session and 11 & Up are in the afternoon. If you know your swimmer has made it and you think you want to stay down in White River Junction, I encourage you to make hotel reservations now. We do not have a room block, but a lot of us stay in the block of hotels closest to UVAC pool. Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express on Ballardvale Dr are where a lot of us end up.

Last note I have for you is that team orders are in so if you placed swimsuit or gear orders they are waiting for you at the club. I have a helper (thanks Kelly Melasky) during the morning practices helping me hand out the gear. If you are having trouble getting your gear send me a note and I can help connect you. Or better yet, reach out on Sports You app and get connected.

Oh and one more last note, we are looking for more helpers to take over some of our volunteering tasks for the season. Please check out the sheet, pick a task, ask questions, and own it. Thank you to all the people who have stepped up so far! Thank you!

Thanks swimmers and families! That is it for me! See you at the pool!
