Meet recap and calling for filling jobs at League Champs!
Hi Team-
Here's to a dwindling number of my late night greetings! I wanted to take a few moments to say how great last night's meet was. I saw kids who couldn't do a single stroke of butterfly at the beginning of the season, completing their first entire 25 butterfly and doing it legally. Yay Zoey Levis! We also had some first time ever 50 fly swimmers Posey Wannop and Nash Boehm, way to power through that tough swim at that longer distance! We had 5 swimmers complete the 500 freestyle, a 20 length test of strength and endurance, way to go, Mya Peters, Abby Fitzpatrick, Natalia Stever, Maddie Stanton-Geddes, and Scarlett Downey! Also I would like to recognize our newest swimmers who completed their first 25 freestyle, Sarge Nelson and Petey Brown. Petey Brown surprised us all by blasting off and doing full freestyle when I have only seen him do doggy paddle. Go Petey! What a little racer you have become! All in all what a great way to cap off our undefeated dual meet season. Thanks everyone for all your help in getting us to this point, it could not have been accomplished without you!
We just have a few more days to go. If you are going to League Champs, I need people to sign up for their jobs soon. I need to have completed job assignment forms submitted to the meet director at noon on Friday! That means by the end of the day tomorrow, please take the plunge, you can do it, sign up, help out, I will be forever grateful!
We need 1 more Stroke and Turn Judge for Friday and 2 for Saturday AM. We need 2 awards table helpers on Friday and a few timers. We need multiple positions filled on Saturday AM. We will not be allowed to compete if we do not have roles filled.
I have added relief timers to both Saturday AM and Saturday PM jobs sign up, we do not need to have these roles filled, but it might be nice for people to have the option for a shorter shift. If you sign up for relief timing, you still go to the timers meeting roughly 20 minutes before the start of the meet and you report for your shift when the starter announces shift change (usually after the backstrokes). Thanks everyone!
Alright I am going to head off to bed! See you at the pool!
Coach Hilary
