Hi Everyone-

I am getting really excited for League Champs in Winooski this Friday and Saturday. I have been spending the better part of the weekend getting things ready for you all. 

I have attached my finalized entry lists organized by Friday, Saturday AM, and Saturday PM. I am only allowed 450 entry points total for a team and we are at 450 currently so there really cannot be any edits at this point, unless swimmers want to swim something exhibition. We are only allowed 10 exhibition swims. 

One detail I forgot to draw your attention to is the call for nomination for League awards, to be announced between sessions on Saturday. See the message below from Bill Clark (CVSL President) and consider nominating someone. You have less than 24 hours, I am sorry for that. But that is how this time of year is. 

Hello CVSL Families

Each year, our swim league gives out two awards to outstanding individuals who have supported our league and our swimmers. These awards will be announced during the league championship meet. Anyone affiliated with our league can make a nomination. If you nominated someone in the past, you are welcome to try again this year. Here are descriptions of the two awards:

Most Valuable Supporter (in memory of Allen Cummings) - This award recognizes a person who has made significant contributions to the success of our league. Any person affiliated with our league is eligible for this award.

Coaching Excellence Award (Golden Whistle Award) - This award recognizes a coach who provides excellent support to our swimmers by encouraging them to excel at swimming, sportsmanship and being good citizens. All coaches within our league are eligible for this award.

We have many excellent people doing amazing work to ensure that our swimmers have an incredible summer season every year. This is your chance to recognize the people who stand out to you. Please consider making a nomination.

The CVSL Officers (listed below) will pick a nominee to receive the award. CVSL Officers are not eligible to receive either of these awards.

To make a nomination, please send an email to one of our league officers (emails below) and include some details about why you think this individual should be considered for an award. Nominations are due by noon on 7/22. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Thank you everyone I hope you had a great weekend! See you in the pool! If you get a chance watch Young Woman and the Sea on Disney Plus, it is an awesome story of Gertrude Ederle, the first woman to swim the English Channel. It certainly makes me feel soft training in a nice warm swimming pool and not the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a real inspiring story about strength, resilience, and the human spirit. Anyway, I digress as usual.
