Meet tomorrow and Leagues Information
Hi Team-
Now we are closing in on the home stretch of the season, with our last week of dual meets! My lovely email communication with you all is going to ramp up as we have our two championship meets coming up quick, so get excited!
First item is the meet tomorrow vs. Town of Essex Swim Team. We are going to snap a team picture before warm-up, so I want us all to arrive in our team t-shirt at 4:35pm. If your swimmer has not picked up their team t-shirt yet, please have them ask me during practice or arrive at the meet earlier to pick their shirt up. Every swimmer gets a shirt!
We have 144 swimmers signed up for the meet and many volunteer positions left unfilled. If I could do all the jobs I would, but I am just one person and I am stretched thin enough as it is. So please look at the job sign up list and sign up. If you signed up for the first shift timer or second shift timer, go to the timers meeting at 5:45pm and then fill your designated shift. We currently need second shift timers, approximately 5 to be exact. If you are the second shift timers, the starter will call for the shift change after the 15-18 boys 50 backstroke (~7:15 hopefully or half way through the meet). Please report for your shift in a timely manner otherwise we all will be waiting and the meet will be delayed. Other key positions that need filling are the bullpen (first and second shift) and sheet runner second shift.
Lastly please know the role you signed up for and if you can't make it let me know. Chasing people down and figuring out replacements last minute is a challenge.
Ok done with that, now onto League Champs July 26th and 27th in Winooski. I have a lot of information for you. I have attached the meet packet with parent information for you to read through, please do, it is important and packed with fun details we all need to know. Also I have attached a map of the facility at Winooski to illustrate where we all will be and how we are exiting and entering the pool area. Basically if you are a spectator and not serving in an official volunteer role for the meet you will not be entering the pool deck space at all during the meet. So another reason to sign up for jobs when we have the assignments available to us on Monday of next week. Swimmers will only be entering the pool area when their events are being seeded and swum, then they will promptly leave the pool area to make space for the next event of swimmers. For most of the time that swimmers are not swimming they will be hanging out in the area of tents across the street from the pool (see the map below). These are just some of the details you will get when you read the meet packet below. So please read it.
Also for Leagues, we have a fun tradition of providing buddy bags with goodies for each of our BTC swimmers going to the meet. These bags contain many things including inspirational cards created by fellow swimmers all next week after practice. We need help with the organization and assembly of these bags and cards. We also need help with other projects in the remainder of the season. Please check out the goody bag sign-up and the volunteer sign up.
Thanks so much for your attention everyone. I appreciate every member of this team, thank you for helping me make summer swimming a very fun and rewarding experience for all our kids. Together Everyone Achieves More, go TEAM go! And that is all I have, goodnight!
Coach Hilary
