Last 2 dual meets and League Champs entry deadline 7/22!

I hope everyone has been having a fun and relaxing weekend. I cannot believe I am saying this, but this is the last week of our dual meet season and league entries are due this Saturday the 22nd. In the next 3 weeks our season will be at an end and I will be so sad to not have everyone at the pool everyday.

First order of business is our last home meet against the town of Essex swim team (TEST) on this Tuesday the 18th. We are going to take a team picture at the pool right before warm ups, so please arrive by 4:30pm with your team suit and team t-shirt. For food: we will have a taco truck here and a paired down snack bar to satisfy everyone's appetites. If you want to be in on this party: the meet entry deadline is set for 6pm Monday (tomorrow), so please declare whether your swimmer will be attending by then. Also please sign up for jobs!

Then we have our last dual meet against Winooski Waves at Myer's Memorial Pool in Winooski on Thursday the 20th. Please declare whether your swimmer is attending on Swimtopia by 6pm on Wednesday.

As always we will try go ahead with a meet if we can, however, the weather has been exceptionally tricky this year, and if we have to make a call we usually try to make it by 3:30pm or 4pm on the day of the meet. So watch the weather and watch your alerts, we will do the best we can. Rain dates can be scheduled for the following week.

League Championships in St. Albans Friday July 28th and 29th:

Get excited for League Championships, they are a ton of fun! Meet entries are due this coming Saturday the 22nd! So please declare whether your swimmer is attending soon (today or tomorrow). On Friday afternoon there are the distance events (8&U- 50 fr & 100IM, 10&U- 50s of all the strokes & 100IM, 11 & Over- 100s of all the strokes, 100IM, 200IM, & 200Fr). Saturday Morning are all the regular 10&Under events and Saturday Afternoon are the regular 11 & Over events. I have included the meet packet in the files attached below for all information pertaining to this meet....there is a lot. It's a big one.

2 pieces of key information contained in that packet are:

1) Eligibility requirements state that in order to compete for your respective team at League championships your swimmer has to have participated in 2 CVSL dual meets with your team during the current 2023 season.

2) Each team is expected to sell 100$ in digital ads that will be on the digital CVSL meet program and will stay up all year. So if you have a business that you want to promote and also help out the CVSL swim league please reach out to me for specifications and more information. Thank you in advance for considering.

For this meet we have more pomp and circumstance and do buddy bags for every swimmer attending. Tomorrow I will send out a sign up for goody donations and/or money donations, which will be collected by Emily McLean, Kelly Melasky, and Erin Sutherland during morning practices for the next 2 weeks. Then on Thursday the 27th before the meet they load all the bags up with goodies and give them out to the swimmers.

Vermont State Championships August 5th and 6th:

If you plan on going to both days and want to stay in White River Junction we have a room block Holiday Inn Express in White River Junction. Please secure our discounted rate by reserving your room today.

Alright well until tomorrow, thanks for your lengthy attention span and have a nice night!
