Looking at next week--- Hello July!

Happy Sunday Team! I hope you all had a nice relaxing weekend! Prepare yourself this email has 2 parts and is going to be rather long.

Part 1: Next week...

We have practice tomorrow morning as usual, but no afternoon practice, please be safe and have a fun fourth of July. No practice on the 4th. Back to the regular schedule for practices on the 5th.

On Thursday we have a big meet with Vergennes at Sam Fishman Pool in Vergennes, please consider making the trip to Vergennes. We need the full force of our team. Vergennes has been our biggest competitors in recent years. Regardless of the outcome, it is always a fun meet, you don't want to miss it. Remember please declare whether your swimmer can attend the meet by 6pm on Wednesday the 5th.

On Saturday morning at the Myer's Memorial Pool in Winooski, Winooski is hosting the meet to allow all swimmers in the Champlain Valley Swim League to compete against each other in up to 3 events that are longer and only offered at the state meet. This gives swimmers a chance to challenge themselves in events they do not usually swim during the summer season. The Vermont State Swimming time standards are included as an attachment below for you to browse. If you have questions or event requests reach out to me or leave me requests in the notes for the coach section when you sign your swimmer up for the meet in swimtopia. I need to know if you plan on attending soon (today), so I can let the organizers at Winooski know how many of us are coming.

Part 2- Meets of Last Week

I have included a pdf of the results for each meet in this email. Also if you are curious before I get around to emailing them out, I usually have them updated and posted within hours of the meet ending. They are located in the sign-up calendar section of our website under past events.

St. Albans- I want to thank all of you who braved the weather and the drive to compete at St. Albans. I watched swimmers taking off layers and shivering behind the blocks, then plunging into the water. That takes a great amount of courage and bravery. Way to go swimmers. I was also impressed how many butterfly swimmers we have across the age groups. Butterfly is a very challenging stroke to master and we have some seriously tough kiddos. I see improvement with every meet. With every race we learn more about swimming and ourselves.

BCC- I want to give a huge thank you to all the parent volunteers, officials, my coaches, and the swimmers, for making our first home meet a huge success. Thank you to everyone who came up to me to offer to help and asked what they could do. Thank you a million times. I appreciate you.

To the swimmers, I was impressed to see the sportsmanship between the teams and between swimmers on our team. The most important thing is to show compassion and kindness for each other especially after a hard won or a hard lost race. I am proud of our swimmers who gave their best in the water and then no matter the outcome they shake hands with their competitors and celebrate a good race. I saw many incredible and exciting races. It was a fun meet to watch. Thank you to everyone who made this meet possible. I am grateful for each and every one of you. Go BTC! Let's have another great week!
