Weekly Update- lots of excitement! 2 meets!
Hi- I hope you all are enjoying your Saturday morning activities. I wanted to get a jump start on the weekly update because we have an action packed week ahead of us with 2 meets. St. Albans at the new Hard'ack Pool recreation center on Tuesday and our first true home meet on Thursday against BCC.
St. Albans Meet- Tuesday
Please go on the meet sign up calendar and declare whether your athlete is attending the meet by 6 pm this Monday 6/24.
In fact you can go through the whole dual meet season and indicate whether your athlete is going to attend or not right now. That will help me out a ton, with a team as large as ours, the more information I get earlier the better for all of us. At these meets, if your athlete is not registered in the meet by the time entries close there is no way to register your athlete on the deck. So do not show up with your swimmer at the meet and expect to swim if you have not registered as attending. If you are having problems or have questions please let me know sooner, rather than later. I might be able to do something about it with the more time you give me.
Also to all those who signed up for jobs, thank you for lending a hand. As you witnessed at our mock meet, it takes a large amount of volunteers to successfully run a swim meet. So please sign up for jobs. At away meets the list is smaller, however we still need, timers, stroke and turn officials, etc. check it out.
I will send out a reminder on Tuesday after practice with specific meet details for St. Albans, but for those of you who haven't been to the facility here is a link to the map pin. Away teams have the second warm-up time at 5:30pm so please have your swimmer arrive ready to go sometime between 5-5:15pm. Heat sheets will be published once the meet is merged by the host team so they should go to your swimtopia apps. To help the coaches out, if you could at least get the events your swimmer is doing on their hands or arms with a sharpie (even if the heat and lane details aren't published yet) it will help us greatly and you will be my personal hero.
Now onto Thursday's meet- BCC at HOME.
Home meets are a ton of fun but also a ton of work. Please sign up for jobs, there are more than enough to go around. Expect home meets to be basically like the mock meet but with twice the excitement and twice the amount of swimmers to coordinate.
Also Thursday's meet is a COTS donation night. I will have a big container out to collect the COTS donations in a bin near the snack bar in the BTC clubhouse. Along with the infinite amount of items you bring to support your swimmer at a swim meet. Please consider bringing one of these items as well:
8 & Under- Toothpaste
9-10- Toothbrush
11-12- Shampoo/Conditioner
13-14- Deodorant
15 & Up- Soap
Alright everyone- thanks so much for tuning in and reading through all this information. I also have included the calendar of events, attached to this email in case you missed it. Please do not hesitate in reaching out with questions, concerns, and comments. Have a great weekend. Go BTC!
Hilary
