WE WON LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS, GO BTC!

Although winning the meet was great, what I thought was the greatest was when I overheard many kids talking about getting points for the team. They were doing events to help their team out and thinking about swimming as part of a team. I thought this might be my biggest success as a coach this season. 

Also there were kids like Fiona Agnew, making the state cut the first time swimming her 100 backstroke. Also a special thanks to Jack Foster for doing the 200 Freestyle and getting some points for the team in a new event for him. You did a great job Jack and thank you! There were many amazing races like the 15-18 50 Breast, way to go Dan Coel and Simon Russell, that was a close, fun race to watch. Another highlight was watching Thomas Melasky doing the 8&Under 100IM and being only 1 of 2 8&Under boys brave enough and skilled enough to do this event. Way to go Thomas keep up the good work! I also want to thank Will, Tori, and Posey Wannop (plus parents) for coming to the Saturday morning session and staying in all the freestyle relays. You made 3 times 3 kids very happy and gave 9 people another chance to swim. 

As always thanks parents and fellow coaches for helping this meet be a success. We have one more meet this weekend, States in White River Junction, VT and we have a decent shot at the state title. If you know that your swimmer has qualified and you plan on going, you must let me know by TOMORROW AT NOON. I have attached my draft of state entries so far. Please look it over, if you thought your swimmer should be on there and they are not, let me know, pronto.

Other Details:

Practices this week, we are combining beginner and junior groups, they will both be held from 10:30-11. 

Also the awards banquet is this Wednesday August 3rd at BTC 5:30-7:30pm, please sign up to bring a salad or dessert.

Last day of practice is this Friday.
