Massive Action Packed Email Update Number 4,024

First, I would like to share some of my brief highlights from this past week's meet, sorry for the delay, turns out this week was action packed for me too.

MIddlebury Meet- I am so incredibly proud of all the progress our swimmers are making. We have been working a lot on our starts, turns, and all the technical details of the 4 racing strokes. It shows, especially in the standout performances of 7 year old Posey Wannop and 14 year old Henry Galloway, every swim looked better and better. Posey did her first legal 25 butterfly, then she followed it up with 2 wins: both in the 25 backstroke and 25 freestyle. Way to go Posey! Henry Galloway, is swimming his first real swim season in years and he is looking stronger every meet. He dropped time in his 50 Butterfly, Breastroke, and Freestyle! Bravo Henry, keep up the good work!

I want to touch briefly on what makes me most proud during meets, is when I see our swimmers reach over and shake hands with an opponent after a tough race, especially after a race that does not go well. Also when I see my swimmers being helpful and respectful in places like the bullpen, where things can get pretty rowdy with anticipation and nerves. Just a reminder to be kind and considerate in the way we conduct ourselves at meets and elsewhere.

Distance Meet- Thank you parents for making this meet possible with your hard work! I would like to give a special shout out to Katie Sumner for swimming the 200 free with Lila Murphy, so she did not have to swim alone. Then, less than 10 minutes later swimming her own race, the 500 Free, this is no easy feat. Way to go Katie, that is true generosity and kindess to a teammate, also a hard 700 yards of swimming. Also I would like to recognize the efforts of our 3 other brave 500 freestyle swimmers, Alissa Pavlov, Cameron Gurry, and Mya Peters. Good job, go girl power!

Also Matias Citarella deserves a shout out for stepping up like Katie and swimming the 50 Butterfly with Andrew Robblee, so he did not have to swim by himself either. Way to go Matias, thanks for being such a good example to younger swimmers and a great teammate!
